About Us

Friends at the Lake is a volunteer-driven, social model program that brings forth a system of care support, a respite - “a short period of relief from something difficult” for all people involved - the caregiver, the friend
living with dementia, and the volunteer.

Our volunteers are trained in the social and relational aspects of caring for our friends living with dementia, offering mental stimulation and socialization while developing relationships that fill people up with a sense of well-being.
